No every attorney is a litigation attorney. A litigation attorney is the type of attorney that can represent you in court. Usually, attorneys that call themselves litigation attorneys have plenty of experience in handling court cases. Usually they start off by joining a law firm that will have a seasoned lawyer to represent the clients in court, and the younger attorneys to that firm will just go and learn how the seasoned lawyer handles the case. Once the younger lawyers in the law firm get more experienced they usually end up leaving the law firm and venturing out on their own. However, this does not mean that every litigation attorney is a seasoned professional. Some litigation attorneys may be rookies. So it is best for our clients to interview the attorneys to discover their background and experience. Sometimes a rookie attorney can represent a client better than a seasoned professional who no longer has the desire to work as hard as he or she once did. That is some food for thought!
